Ishaq (Yiz.h.aq Standard, Tiberian Yis.ha-q) is the second son of Prophet Abraham when Ishmael. His mother named Sarah who is also the parent of the Prophet Yaqub. Prophet Ishaq Kana'an sent to the community, especially in the city of Hebron (al-Khalil), because his people did not know God. The story of Prophet Ishaq very little is told in the Qur'an. Prophet Ishaq mentioned in the Qur'an as much as 17 times.
Ishaq's name comes from the Hebrew Yis.ha-q which means laughing / smiling. The word is derived from his mother, Sarah's smile did not believe it when getting good news from the angel Gabriel.
Before the birth of Isaac, Sarah and her husband, Ibrahim, received the good news of God through the angel Gabriel. In the message the angel Gabriel said that Sarah would give birth to a boy named Isaac, who would later become a prophet. However, Sarah smiled as surprised and curious. He felt strange because she and her husband might not be able to give offspring if they were old enough age, ie 90-year-old Sarah and Abraham 120 years. Isaac was finally born in the town of Hebron in Kana'an area in 1897 BC.
Isaac was the second child of Abraham and Sarah after Ishmael. Together with Ismail, he is becoming the successor to his father to preach in the way of Allah. When Abraham was very old, not married Isaac. Ishaq Ibrahim did not allow married women Kana'an because people do not know God and alien to his family. Therefore, Abraham ordered a servant to go to Harran, Iraq and bringing a woman from her family. Woman in question is Rafqah bint Batuwael bin Nahur, brother Ibrahim, who later was married to Isaac.
After 10 years of married Rafqah Ishaq, was born two twins. The first child is named Al-Aish and second child born to Jacob by holding the feet of his brother. From Ishaq was born then the prophets of Bani Israel.
Isaac died in 1717 BC, at the age of 180 years.
